CC's No. 1 golfer...
VanDuyne misses final cut for state

Coaler golfer Jake VanDuyne finished his season at the Somonauk Sectional at Edgebrook Golf Course on Monday.

VanDuyne shot a 92, but missed the cut for the state tournament, which was 79.

"I think that Jake has been very consistent throughout the season and that continued yesterday," said head coach David Sinkular.

VanDuyne shot a 91 in the Bishop McNamara Regional to qualify in cold and windy conditions.

While the wind was calm, the cold temperatures on Monday factored into scoring.

Due to a few delays, VanDuyne's group ended up playing a 5-hour round.
